What is Outreach?
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)
LE Ministries’ testimony: A young man walked up to me, excited to get a book. When I told him I’m sharing the “Happiness For Life” books to help raise fund for college he said “sure” and continued saying, “Remember we had a prayer last time. And since then things have turned around.”
I’m glad God was able to use me to help someone’s life turn around. I was even humbled at the fact that God saw to it to let me know about it.
My commitment to serve The Lord is now etched in stone. He is just too loving and too kind.
“…I’m going back to church.”
It was a cold, cold day when I knocked on Jenny’s door. She started out very reluctant and defensive when I introduced the Health Power and God’s Answers to Your Questions. At first she refused to listen and pull out her own health book and stated that she will not use anything else. I was persistent with the presentation and soon realized she was in distress due to pain. At my request she agreed that I came in and sat down. I soon found out that she suffers from cancer. She showed no interest in the books. I kept on praying for the Holy Spirit to intervene. I told her about God’s will for His children and reminded her that she is a child of God, then I prayed with her. Following the prayer, she confided in me stating that she believes God must have sent me to her home. She has been a backslid Adventist for many years now and never felt comfortable when she had to teach Sunday School. She said, “God’s been talking to me for a long time and I refused to listen. Today I make a decision…I’m going back to church.”
A few weeks later, I visited Viola who lives in Jenny’s building. I ran in to Jenny in Viola’s apartment. We greeted each other. It was a pleasant surprise after about three weeks not seeing each other. She told me that she now attends an Adventist church nearby. I took with me a copy of He Taught Love with the intention of sharing it with Viola. However, the Spirit moved me to share it with Jenny instead. I told her, I used this book during my morning devotion and I was blessed by it. This time, she gladly accepted and paid for it. Two weeks later I called her. She couldn’t stop talking about the book. She volunteered saying, “The book you gave me is very, very interesting. I’m almost done reading it. I have to force myself to put it down so I can go to sleep at night.” She went on to say that for the first time in her life she understands the story of Zacchaeus and how simple it is.
